My wife and I recently finished a year-long journey around the world. Our photos and stories can be found at teamjk.com. Some of our photography projects were highlighted by Room to Read and Conservation International.

I'm back in San Francisco and recently joined Twitter engineering, after an incredible 9.5 years at Google. Recent projects at Google include Google Consumer Surveys and Google Flu Trends.

Some of my older photography and travel stories can be found at dogmouth.net.

une chronique

I moved to California in 1996 to think about thinking at a farm near Palo Alto. Along the way, I spent a year in Firenze pointing lasers at a few of the local statues.

After a brief stint as a ski instructor at Jackson Hole, I spent a year teaching computer science in New Zealand at Victoria University. I returned to California in 2003 to join a start-up and work on a few hard problems.

Many moons later, in 2011, my wife and I took a year-long journey around the world. Afterwards, I bid farewell to Google and joined the flock to take on new challenges.
